The Monty Price Foundation was founded in December 2004 to provide aid and guidance when needed to families or individuals who have been met with a tragedy. Our mission is to share God’s comfort and love in times of tragedy, and is dedicated to “reaching one more.”
The foundation is established in the loving memory of our family: Jake, Susan and Monty Price, and friend Lendon Stovall, who perished on January 8, 2003, in a plane crash near Flagstaff, Arizona. We want to thank the countless strangers who reached out to our family in our darkest hour during our 11-day search, and taught us so much about how to reach out to others.
Over the past three years, The Monty Price Foundation has aided others in the following ways: temporary housing or hotel rooms, one-on-one counsel, monetary help for searches and rescues, aid for finding missing children, missions in South Africa, El Shaddai Orphanage in Swaziland, and Gabriel House for handicapped children in Ensenada, Mexico.
We recently broadened our reach to include a yearly “Military Hero Award,” and our first recipient is Master Sargent Kenneth Sargent, who suffered a severe brain injury during the Iraq War.
We also will continue to honor a local recipient who has been met with and overcome great obstacles in life with the “Second Chance Award.” Our most recent recipient is Oceanside resident Tara Beasley, who overcame a long ordeal with brain cancer and is now returning to college at Long Beach State.
