Monty Leon Price, of Midland, Texas, died on January 8, 2003, along with his wife, Susan Price, and his son, Jake Wagner Price, in a plane crash in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Monty was born in Trinity, Texas, on November 23, 1957, and was a graduate of Trinity High School. He attended Sam Houston State where he met his wife Susan Wagner. They were married in Trinity in 1978 and later they both enlisted in the Air Force and served for four years. After returning to Trinity, where their son Jake was born, they moved to Oklahoma where he graduated from Rhema Bible College. He returned to Trinity to build his ministry and they later moved to Iraan, Texas, where he pastored a church. The family then moved to Midland, Texas, where he developed the Cowboy Church of The American West.
Graveside services were held January 25 at the Trinity Cedar Grove Cemetery with Ben Priest officiating. A memorial service was held in Midland on January 23, 2003.
Monty is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Leann and Braden Conner; his mother, June Price of Trinity; brothers, Jerry Price and wife, Melanie, and Craig Price and wife Becky; sisters, Kathy Price Sampson and husband, Gregg, and Jill Price Miller and husband, Brant; nieces and nephews, Eric, Jenna, Cole, Beau, Chrissi, Taylor, Brannon, Josh, Cody, Nick and Kassidy; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Price.
Susan Elizabeth Price, of Midland, Texas, died on January 8, 2003, along with her husband, Monty, and son, Jake Wagner Price in a plane crash in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Susan was born in Yankton, South Dakota, on August 31, 1958. She was a self-described “Army Brat” and had traveled extensively in this country and overseas. She attended Sam Houston State University and was a member of the swim team. It was at Sam Houston State where she met and married her life mate, Monty Price. Along with him, she joined the Air Force and was stationed in California where her daughter, Leann, was born. Susan was a dedicated wife and mother, an accomplished decorator and seamstress. Her talents were evident at Leann’s wedding in December. Flowers were her passion, and she had a beautiful flower garden where ever she lived. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a wonderful daughter and daughter-in-law and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Graveside services were held for Susan, Monty and Jake, on January 25 at the Trinity Cedar Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leann and Braden Conner; parents, Lieutenant Colonel Ret. Robert Wagner and Sarah Wagner; sister, Alison and husband, Roy Hall; brother, David Wagner and wife Jennifer; and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Wayne, Alex, Amber, Leon, Brianna, Grey and Owen.
Jake Wagner Price, of Midland, Texas, died on January 8, 2003, along with his parents, Monty and Susan Price, and his girlfriend, Lendon Stovall, in a plane crash in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Jake was born in Trinity, Texas, on May 5, 1983. He was a graduate of Midland Christian School and had enrolled in Midland College. He had his pilot’s license.
Graveside services for him and his parents were held at January 25 at the Trinity Cedar Grove Cemetery with Ben Priest officiating. A memorial service was held in Midland on January 23, 2003.
Jake is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Leann and Braden Conner; and grandparents, June Price of Trinity and Bob and Sarah Wagner of Temple, Texas; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
